Sometimes you just have to grab a hammer

My husband G and I have talked for several months about knocking down a wall in our dining room.  I talked serious he talked "yes someday".  Well that "someday" came a few weeks ago when I was finishing up some painting at our house and I came to the wall in question.  We are always on a budget and can't ever seem to have the funds to do what I want when I want to do it (sound familiar?) and I found myself in need of buying another gallon of paint (a $50 in vestment these days) and the thought occurred to me" I could save that $50 and just tear down this wall" so I did.  I gave the hubby a little for warning, I texted him and said I as going to do it and he texted back ok (in the end that ok might have been a little more sarcastic than i thought ;) but hey that is what he gets for trying to send sarcasm through a text message right?  In the end other than his help in the clean up he was pleased with my transformation if only getting it back to livable really would only cost us that $50 but alas like most things saving that 50 bucks probably cost me $300 but hey really only $250!!

P.S. EVERYONE should once in a while just pick up a hammer and start pounding there is nothing more therapeutic and exhilarating that tearing down a WALL!!

P.P.S. stay tune for railings coming soon.....I hope:)

before the wall removal
things got a little messier than I planned
because I let the 13 yr. old into the act but
hey why should mom have all the fun!
Once the wall was out dad cut all the
studs down to make a temporary
railing until the new one can go in!

The temporary finish until the
permanent railings go in
